Yoga Penzance, Cornwall: Face-to Face & Online

Yoga in its fullest sense can transform lives - whoever you are, whatever your body.

Whatever kind of Yoga you’re interested in – body work, breath work, relaxation, meditation – all these different practices are ultimately about reconnecting, realigning, and coming home to a true and full sense of yourself - physically, mentally, and emotionally.

People come to my Yoga Classes in Cornwall & Online classes as beginners or as seasoned practitioners and for many different reasons. Many people desire more agile, stronger, balanced bodies. Others want stress relief, better sleep, deep rest. And some people are seeking a deeper connection to the mystery of life. I seek, through a relaxed but thorough approach to teaching Yoga, to meet each person where they’re at.

Yoga changes lives. And it is too sacred to be taken too seriously. Listening, sensing, moving, breathing are all profound practices – and they are also fun, light and every now and again, a little bit surprising. What you’ll notice changing in your life is exciting and will stay with you – while you might forget every now and then, once you’ve started, it will be with you for life.

Is Yoga just physical?

Most of us first come to Yoga expecting a physical practice. And yes, Yoga can be physical – you might experience a strenuous work out, gentle movement and even complete quiet and stillness. Along with the body, Yoga brings you to your breath, to experience greater ease, enjoyment and energy. You will also find deep relaxation and meditation as part of your Yoga class.

Is Yoga just a fad?

I find it incredible that however we choose to practice Yoga today - everything we do is coloured by timeless wisdom from numerous contemplative traditions – Vedic, Advaita Vedanta, Buddhist, Tantra, and others -  traditions that originated 5000 years BCE in India but that have travelled and adapted. Traditions that are as alive today as they’ve ever been. Yoga is ancient and Yoga is now!

Practicing yoga with Rebecca has been transformative. One of the main benefits is that I have found ways of easing the aches and pains I was experiencing by becoming more finely attuned to my body. It has also completely changed my understanding of what yoga is. Rather than the usual emphasis on various yoga positions, through the work with breath and meditation Rebecca’s teaching has given me the tools I need to stay calm, focused, and aware.
